Site Details

  • Network Rail renovated and expanded a beautiful Victorian structure to create a transport hub that is ready to accommodate the unprecedented numbers taking to the railways.
  • The bright, spacious new concourse is the largest single-span structure in Europe. It opened in March 2012 in time to welcome the world for the Olympics.
  • The project was completed with the revealing of the original station facade and the opening of the 75,000 SQ ftn King’s Cross Square in front of the station.
  • Multiple new Daikin air-conditioning VRV systems were installed throughout the station along with energy efficient ventilation systems.
  • Two dry air coolers are installed to provide condense water to retail units to allow for efficient heat reclaim from refrigeration equipment.
  • The concourse area is equipped with intelligent lighting and entry doors are explosion resistant.
  • Tate also mange ST Pancras Thameslink station direct for Network rail as part of this contract and due to our work we were appointed as nominated subcontractor to NG bailey to manage St Pancras over ground and Eurostar terminals
